Facebook limits auto-posts

"We've found that stories people choose to explicitly share from third party apps are typically more interesting and get more engagement in News Feed than stories shared from third party apps without explicit action," Facebook's Peter Yang wrote in a post on the company's blog for developers.
Facebook will no longer prioritize implicitly share posts from third party apps that users authorized to share content on their news feed. Fewer posts now will appear on users timeline about what their friends are listening to, what level on a game, calories burned, or the endless seflie photos posted on Instagram.

  • Better Facebook news feed experience. More valuable content on the news feed 

What does it mean for third-party app developers?

  • A new way to promote their apps. 
  • Facebook provided Like button for mobile app that enables user to share the content without tapping share button.
  • The social media giant is also rolling out Send to Mobile which allows users notification to download the app in their mobile.
